As president of Hillsdale College, Larry Arnn has done as much as anyone to advance America’s founding principles—the very principles he studied as an ISI Weaver Fellow at the Claremont Graduate School in the 1970s.
Hillsdale is the rare institution that provides an authentic liberal arts education, and thanks to Dr. Arnn, the students on campus are not the only ones to benefit. Under his leadership, Hillsdale has increased the circulation of Imprimis, its monthly speech digest, to more than 2.5 million. He has also been a trailblazer in online education. Starting with “Constitution 101,” Hillsdale’s online courses have introduced hundreds of thousands of people to America’s founding principles and our Western heritage.
None of this, Dr. Arnn says, would have been possible without ISI’s support. “While I had the Weaver Fellowship,” he recalls, “I was taking classes that remain the dominant fact in my understanding.”
Dr. Arnn now serves on the ISI’s board of trustees.
