Matthew Reese is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee and recently graduated from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, where he studied Political Philosophy and History. During his college career, Matthew spent a year abroad at the University of Oxford, where he read philosophy and history. That time cultivated an interest in John Henry Cardinal Newman, leading to a senior thesis on the relation Newman saw between political and theological liberalism. This relationship remains one of Matthew’s primary academic interests, as well as metaphysics and aesthetics. When he’s not reading or writing, Matthew can be found contra dancing with the Boston folk dancing community.
