“The Supply-Side Revolution: A Path to Restoring Prosperity”

Econoclasts book cover

In his recent ISI Book, Econoclasts, Brian Domitrovic brings to light the economic catastrophe of "stagflation," and chronicles the revolutionary response which spawned supply-side economics in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. It was not government intervention that spurred growth, he argues, but a concentrated effort on the part of government to restore a balanced tax code and offer economic suppliers with the ability to grow the economy.

Based on your reading of Domitrovic's text, what are the main barriers to economic growth? Has government become more or less burdensome since the "supply-side revolution" of the 80s? According to Domitrovic, what lessons from history can we apply in order to restore prosperity for the 21st century?
